Executive Chef ~ Jay Gundy
Born and raised in Detroit, Chef Jay Gundy has worked at many fine restaurants including, Tribute in Farmington Hills, The Historic Whitney restaurant in Detroit’s Midtown district and Birmingham’s Forte. He earned his first head chef position at Fiddleheads Restaurant in 2005.
Gundy is very active in Wild Foraging and considers himself extremely fortunate to have access to everything that Michigan has to offer. The menu at Cork changes seasonally based on his discoveries and imagination.
Other things that he does in his spare time include, teaching Butchery classes at the Davisburg 4H Fair, consulting other small businesses in the trade and hosting pop up dinners and events across the Metro Detroit area. Prior to coming to Cork 5 years ago, Gundy opened Birmingham’s Cafe Via and the original Townhouse Bistro.
At Cork Wine Pub we offer a creative menu of small plates, combined with well-conceived entrees and luxurious deserts; and its all complimented by a list of more than 100 individually chosen wines, handcrafted cocktails – made with fresh ingredients, and an impressive selection of Michigan brewed beers.
Our cozy atmosphere is the perfect place to meet new friends and build relationships. You will see why Cork Wine Pub remains a favorite meeting place for young professionals in the Metro Detroit area.
Each month at Cork we feature a variety of events from Wine Tasting to Art Openings. You can schedule private parties or private wine tasting events in the exclusive wine lounge. We also boast a retail wine shop with more than 100 wines to choose from for your convenience.
